Candy, Candy, Candy

Only three days till Christmas and I still have Christmas shopping to do!!! Problem with a being a single mum is trying to get presents for the kids without them knowing about it!!! My wonderful sister, allison who means the world to me had the boys on Monday so I could pick up their "santa"presents and today   I'm dropping my boys off at a friends house to get a few last minute gifts.. The shops are going to be crazy!!!! Not looking forward to it at all!!!
Anyway the reason I am posting is not to show cards today as I have no time to create lately, not cards anyway.. But to let you know about lots of yummy blog candy and blog hops about!!! Stamp and Create have given the DT members some candy they can give away and I found a $25 voucher up for grabs at Twinkles glow with stamps and three stamps of your choice over at Victoria Murray's Blog. (Which ends today!!)  Get on over and do the blog hop with Make It Crafty... they have $200 worth of prizes up for grabs and there is so much inspiration along the way you won't regret taking some time out of your day to do it and all you have to do is leave a comment on all the blogs!! Pretty easy really!! Of course there is lots more going on, check out my sidebar for more blog candy opportunities.
I would like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that the new year brings much happiness (and lots of crafting time!) your way!!! I'll be back after Xmas with some new creations.. can't wait to get back into it!!!

Until Next time, Enjoy!!! xxx

Where has the month gone????? and a winner of blog candy!! yay me!!!

Or should I be saying where has the year gone??? I cannot believe it's ten days to christmas!!! My boys are very excited about Christmas and the lead up. We took a trip into the city on the train on the weekend and went and saw Santa and had a look at the Myer windows (Myers is a big department store in Australia and here in melbourne every year they choose a theme or a book and decorate the windows with animated characters and places that go with them. This years theme is "The Nutcracker") My oldest son also had his last day of kinder today and Santa stopped by to say hello and the looks on the kids faces was priceless. They were all so excited!!! I can't wait till Christmas morning!!
I have not joined in, in a single challenge at all this month and probably won't get a chance to till the new year. But I have been creating in between attending kinder, concerts and parties, funerals and orientation days at school!! Because I have been so busy I have not had the time to make Christmas cards this year but i'm hoping to at least get an email card made up before christmas and sent out!!!
Every year I make the kinder and swimming teachers presents and this year was no different except this year i cheated a bit and bought jars to decorate!!! This year I made chocolate truffles, yo yo's and fudge to fill the jars and was very with the end resuts both in look and taste!! hehehehe!!

So, speaking of candy, there is a lot of blog candy out in blogland at the moment!!! I have been looking at all the advent calendars that are happening, magnolia inspirations, and Whiff of joy are just two of many and to my delight and excitement, after leaving many comments I WON!! On day 7 of the Magnolia Inspirations advent calendar I had to go to Mary's blog and make a comment on her gorgeous creation she made with a magnolia stamp and out of the 500+ comments I was randomly picked!!  Thanks Mary!! Not sure what I have won but something from magnolia so can't wait to see what it is!! And last month I hopped along on the Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Christmas Blog Hop and made comments on all the DT's blogs and won a Lil Fashionette 60's Willow... I had totally forgotten i'd even done the blog hop until Yanitza let me know via my blog. Thanks yanitza!!
And as you can see on my sidebar there are lots of other opportunity's to win some blog candy so go visit these wonderful blogs and become a follower.. You will definitely be inspired by the creativity you find!!!
I will post again before Xmas!!! Fingers Crossed!!

Until next Time, Enjoy!! xx

My inspiration...

You'll have to excuse the quality of these photos of my card but I was so happy with the way it turned out that I wanted to share it straight away. It's night time here so had to photograph it inside and I have downlights so there are shadows no matter which way I had the card.. so I'll try and take a better picture tomorrow... Anyway this weeks challenge at Magnolia-licious is an inspiration challenge..

As soon as I saw this I knew what I wanted to do and using this weeks The Sweet Stop Sketch it all just came together... and this is the end result!!!
So I took my inspiration from the tree and the presents and with these gorgeous kaisercraft papers and magnolia stamp, the rest just flowed onto the card.

This is the front of the card, it's 3-D. I tried to take a photo of it so you could see all the levels but just can't seem to to get the right angle!!

The Sweet Stop sketch has a spin this week which is to decorate the inside of the card!! I never decorate the inside of my cards so I kept this pretty simple but I think it still looks great!!

Ingredients
papers: American crafts and kaisercraft
stamps: magnolai Inque boutique'and papertrey Ink
colouring: Aquacrayons and twinkling H2O's
other supplies: kindyglitz and ribbon

Until next time, Enjoy!! xxx

Just Magnolia Downunder + a project I'm working on!!

This is the first of my two blog posts today. Feels like ages since I've posted on my blog... I have so many craft projects that I am trying to get done at the moment as well as other things that life involves so making cards seems to be the last thing to get done. But last night I decided to sit down and do some challenges. This card I am entering into the Just Magnolia Challenge which asks for white + 1 and also Magnolia Downunder Challenge which is a sketch. I love the colours of this card as it's my favourite colour but I think I may have overdone it with the stars!! It's a pretty simple card but I  like the way it turned out.. I haven't put a sentiment on it yet as I still can't decide what to put on it...

Ingredients:
Paper: American crafts and Kaszazz
Stamps: magnolia and paper trey ink, stampin'up
coloured: Twinkling H2O's
Other: kindyglitz, embossing powder, kaszazz ink

This is the project I am currently working on!!! I'm still not sure how to decorate the main square but I'm waiting for my Kaszazz order to arrive so I have a day or two to decide what I'm doing!!

Just Fairy Christmas.. and some pics from our "C" Party

Just a quick post tonight as I have heaps to do and of course no time to do it in!! LOL!! The story of my life really!! Anyway, I made this card and had planned to enter into the Lily of the Valley blog challenge but I've just missed out on that one. So I'm entering this into Just Magnolia where Donalda has done a sketch. I'm not really sure if I like what I have created but I keep looking at it and think yeah it turned out ok. Probably not one of my best creations I think because there are different shades of red but then I am my own worst critic. I've also entered this card into a couple of other challenges that I have found through Feline Playful who lists a heap of challenges daily!! It takes the chore out of looking!! LOL!! So I've also joined in with the fairy tale challenge blog which is "anything goes"  and Christmas stampin all year long where you have to have stripes on your card somewhere... Anyway, I'll stop waffling, here's my card!!

Sorry the pic is not so good as it's been a dull and dreary day here today!!

Ingredients
Papers: Kaszazz
Flowers: Bizzy Becs
Stamps: Magnolia and Kaszazz
Colouring: Twinkling H20's and aquacrayons
Ribbon: Stampin' Up

And now for a few pics from my sisters dress up party: We had to dress up as something starting with "C"

My four year old was a chef

My five year old was a cowboy

I was a Cute Critter!!!

Until next time... Enjoy!! xxx

My other Passion ...and a card!!

I am in the middle of baking, in 27C heat for my sister's 21st. She is having a dress up party tomorrow night, we have to dress up as something starting with the letter "C". My boys are very excited - My oldest is going as a cowboy and he finished off his outfit today with a gun and some money... Cos he tells me Cowboys steal money...LOL!!! My youngest is going as a Chef, he got a masterchef apron and hat yesterday.. I am going as a ladybug.. I hear you saying that ladybug doesn't start with C, well you're right but Cute Critter does... hehehehe... One of the wonderful teachers ( they are all wonderful by the way:) ) at my oldest sons kinder owns the ladybug outfit and I borrowed it earlier in the year for another dress up party I was invited too...so when the theme for this party was revealed I thought I could borrow it again... So I will post photos next week of the party!!!
Anyway, I am baking some slices and savoury nibblies for the party, my second passion, and the main reason I'm carrying extra kilos ... LOL!!! At the moment I have Snickers Brownie's in the oven and I have already prepared the chocolate ganache to make white chocolate truffles... Later on I will make melting moments with raspberry icing and lemon slice and tomorrow just before serving I'll make the chicken and bacon vol au vents and the avocado and tomato salsa wonton cups... Hopefully everyone loves the food...
Once everything is cooked i'll plate it up and take a photo of it and add it to this post..
# Sorry about the glare, was quite late when I took the photo!!!

From the top: lemon slice, snickers brownies, melting moments with raspberry icing, and white chocolate truffles covered in white and dark chocolate

But for now i thought I'd share the card I made for my son's 4th Birthday last week... he's into dinosaurs at the moment so I made this simple but oh so cute card!!!

I also made him a jigsaw dinosaur cake... I actually made two cos my 4 year old had one with his brother and I on his actual birthday then another one for his party... They both turned out well ....

Sorry the photos aren't the best, taken at night..

Until Next time... Enjoy !!! xxx

Lil Lolita meets Tickled Pink Sketch meets Corrosive Challenge!!!

Last night I decided to join in  with the Lil Lolita Boutique challenge which asks to make something that is black and white + 1. Tickled Pink stamps monthly challenge has a sketch so i decided to follow the sketch as well and while I was looking at the Feline Playful blog I scanned down the list of this weeks challenges and saw that the corrosive challenge blog was to create something black and blue so thought that this card was suitable as well. So this Lil Lad has been entered in three challenges this week! I really like the way the card turned out, I changed the sketch slightly but you can still see the elements in it!!!

Ingredients
Papers - Kaszazz and American Crafts
Colouring - H2O's and aquacrayons
Other supplies - buttons, rhinestones, ribbon

Until next time... Enjoy!! xxx

Anything Goes..

I have been offline for a couple of weeks as I had gone over my download usage so it took forever for pages to load but I'm back and have lots to share so I will have a few posts tonight!!! So bear with me and enjoy!!! I saw a card like this a few weeks ago and loved it so I found a template here at Mirkwood Designs and after choosing papers this is what i came up with:

I've decided to enter this into the Just Magnolia Challenge this week which is anything goes with the options of adding Beads.. I haven't added any beads but thought this was perfect for this challenge. I've also decided to enter it into a new challenge which started today ...Magnolia-licious Challenge. They want to see creations with pink and Yellow!!

Ingredients
Papers - scraps so not too sure
Colouring - Tria marker G637 and aquacrayons
Other supplies - ribbon, eyelets, kindyglitz
Until next time... Enjoy!! xx

Lil Lolita Sketch

Just a quick post today as I have to go get my youngest son from Kinder shortly. I made this card for the Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge and this week we had a sketch to follow.. I think you can see that I've followed the sketch but as usual I needed to add my extra bits and sparkles. I have had this black and white flower paper I think since I started card making about 3 years ago but never used it. But now that I have become a bit better at making cards as soon as I spotted this paper in my stash I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it... I am very happy with the outcome..

I've coloured Willow in with aquacrayons and H2O's. Everything else that I have used I have no idea where I got it all from as I've it all for ao long.. i think the flowers are from Kaisercraft..

That's all for today!!
Until next time, Enjoy xx

Breast Cancer Awareness

Good evening!! I have just spent the last hour or so blog hopping for a cause and it was a very inspirational blog hop. 25 wonderful ladies around the world are a part of the Inking Pink Blog hop which has been inspired by a close friend of theirs, Elise who found out a couple of weeks ago that she had Breast Cancer!!!

They all wanted to spread the word about the importance of having regular breast checks with some very touching stories about close family and friends that have had breast cancer!! I too have a family member with Breast cancer, my nan, and at the age of 84,Ii would have to say she is a true fighter. She is fighting this disease head on and with such a positive outlook, good health and loving and supportive family by her side I believe she will beat this disease!!
So I urge you to join this blog hop to read inspirational stories of survival or at least do a breast examination and help fight this disease!!

Until next time, Enjoy xx

MIA...

Where have the past couple of weeks gone? I have had my sister staying with me this week so I haven't made any cards but last sunday I made a card for this weeks The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge.. The challenge had a spin this week to add lots of sparkle, which isn't hard for me as I love sparkle or bling or glitz... So here is what I came up with....

As usual I really wasn't sure what colours I was going to do so I found this kaszazz paper (scraps) and pulled the colours out of that and the stamp is a digital image (which I can't remember the site I got it from) that I found a while ago.. I coloured the image with H2O's and aquacrayons. And for the sparkle I used kindyglitz on all the flowers.

It was my sister, Allison's birthday this week and we don't usually exchange gifts but she loves peanut butter slices, biscuits, ice-cream etc so I decided to make a couple of slices for her. I had all intentions of just giving here a container of slice but I spied a magnolia stamp half coloured in on my desk which I though was perfect for what I had made so I went and bought a jar, tied some ribbon to it, finished colouring the magnolia image (which Sam kindly stamped for me) and ta da!!! I think it turned out really well... nice and simple but just turned a plain jar into something special!!!

Tilda is coloured in with Tria markers, and aquacrayons

So now that my sister has gone back to her house I will get creating again and I can't wait... Plus I just received my Kaszazz creative challenge this week so will be getting on to that as well...

Until Next time, Enjoy xx

Lil Lolita Creates 4 Fun

Since I started this blog I've found myself participating in more challenges. But  now I'm making less cards as I'm wanting to make my creations just as good as the other entrants in the challenges. I really love the way my cards look but sometimes think I don't have enough on them.. I really am a less is more kind of person so as you will notice I don't have tonnes of layers but is it enough???
Yesterday I bought Lil Lad "Frankie Frankenstein" from Tickled Pink Stamps at my boys request.. He is part of the new set of digi Lil Lolita's that was just released.
I actually had no intention, when I started making this card, of entering it into any challenges . I needed some guidance so I decided to look at the sketch from The Sweet Stop blog and start from there. As I was putting the finishing touches to it I thought I'd just have a look at what the challenge was this week at lil Lolita's Boutique challenge. And as if by fate the challenge was to use the colours purple, orange and black. So i thought what the hey, I may as well enter it. And while I was sitting at the compuetr an email came through from Create for Fun for their challenge this week and their challenge is to use a digi stamp so... bingo can enter that one too... So now that I have entered into five challenges this week I think I might finish making cards for a friend who ordered some awhile ago!!

Turned out pretty good didn't he!! You can't tell in this picture but I actually made the webs shimmer with some pearlized top coat smooch..

Ingredients
paper: graphic 45 and bazzill
image: tickled pink stamps
coloured with H2O's and aquacrayons

Until next time, Enjoy!!

Just Tickled Magnolia .....

Goodmorning, what a gorgeous day it is today... My son accidentally dropped our computer mouse last night and it's no longer working so it will take me a bit longer to do this post today but I will make do...Made this card last night and I am so happy with the way it turned out that I had to share it now rather than tonight. There are quite a few challenges that I wanted to join in with this week so I decided to combine them. This month Tickled Pink stamps have another sketch and to be in for a chance to win a prize you have to use a stamp that is sold by one of the company's in the Tickled Pink store. AS a lot of you would know Kellie started out selling just Magnolia's on her store but has now branched out and stocks some cute and quirky stamps.. So that challenge is covered... Magnolia Downunder challenge this week was a colour challenge - have to use blue, green, yellow and kraft somewhere on your card... I really struggled to figure out what shades of these colours to use but I knew what stamps I wanted to use so i coloured in Tilda first then found papers to match... so that challenge covered also... Now the third challenge is one over at Just Magnolia where the challenge is 2 x 2, so 2 buttons, 2 papers etc... I'm not actually sure if mine will qualify for this challenge but it should ... it has 2 buttons, two sets of rhinestones, 2 papers and 2 images. I guess only time will tell...
At the end of the day, I make these card for myself and entering them in challenges is just a way to get my creative juices flowing with the ideas!!!

Ingredients
Papers - Bazzill from kaszazz and flower paper from Prima
Stamps - Magnolia and the letterbox is a digi stamp but can't remember where I got it from.. I must start writing the blogs down cos I hate not acknowledging the illustrator.
Coloring - H20's, aqua crayons and tria marker G637
Sentiment - From all that scraps

Until next time, Enjoy

Just a quick Post

Getting late here but thought I'd post a card that I might just sneak in to the Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge which was a sketch this week!! I have pretty much followed it to a T... Again this was created using my scraps!!

It's not the best picture as I've taken it inside at night, so I might retake the photo outside tomorrow and replace this picture!!
I've coloured Willow with H20's and a Tria marker!!
Until next time, Enjoy!!

*I've updated this photo with one that was taken outside.. Much better photo now. I also added the flower which I think makes it look a little bit better!!

Spring Time!!

We are having such beautiful weather here in Sunbury the past couple of days.. I really must get out into the garden and get all the weeds out and plant my vegies and herbs...but  for now I thought I'd post a card I made last night out of my scraps (which i must say are going down quite rapidly). I am so happy with the way this turned out... It's simple but beautiful I think~!! I was going to enter it into the Bizzy Becs challenge but as usual I'm too late! LOL!! Never mind!! Will have to look at some more challenges tonight now that the kids are back at kinder and are in bed early so I have some time to create again!!
So here is what I came up with:

Ingredients
Stamp: Anne Bodil digi - coloured with aquacrayons and H2O's
Patterned paper: Kaisercraft
Cardstock: Kaszazz
Ribbon: Kaszazz
Sentiment: Stampin' Up

Will hopefully have some more cards to post tomorrow!
Until then, Enjoy!!

While I was away....

It's nearly the end of school holidays here and I must say I'm actually looking forward to getting back into our routine... Just spent the past couple of days up at Mt Dandenong with my very dear friend, Colleen and her family to celebrate her birthday and just to spend some time with her!! We went to the Tesselar Tulip festival yesterday and we all had a lovely time tiptoeing through the tulips... The kids loved looking for all the gnomes and going on the tractor ride!! Got some gorgeous photos of the boys in the tulips!!

My Boys

I also had some time to create some cards as Colleen is also a card maker, in fact she is the one that got me into making cards in the first place.. I always loved the cards I got from her so decided to try my hand at it and well you know the rest...
So here are a few of the cards I have made over the past couple of days.

I made the butterfly section of this card at paperific at the Heaven Scent stand and decided to turn it into a card rather than have it lying around being unused.

The green and orange card with the  cogs  was made at a stand (can't remember the name) at the paperific show so I turned it into a joy fold card.. All I did was emboss the brown card with a Tim Holtz embossing folder!

Hope you've enjoyed looking at my cards and until next time, Enjoy!!

Baby Cards

It is such a gorgeous day here in Sunbury today so I really should be outside with my boys but they are off playing next door so I thought I'd quickly post a couple of cards that I made last night!! They didn't take me long to make as they are quite simple cards but I think they turned out great!!

I've used the new Kaszazz jumpsuit stamp which I stamped onto the  new Jordan Belle paper and yellow card stock. The sentiment is from All that Scraps

I used the Stampin'Up baby tees rollagraph, coloured them in with Aquacrayons  and hung them on a piece of ribbon all stuck on embossed paper. Again I used the  Sentiment from All that Scraps.

Have fun and Enjoy!!
